Taking a Break

duty free haul

Today’s blog post is a little bit different, instead of sharing with you the latest and greatest beauty finds I’m actually here to let you know that I’m taking a little break. A full on break from my blog and YouTube channel for an entire week. Say whaaat! I’ve never actually stepped away from my blog for an entire week since starting over six year ago but sometimes you just need to step back. Usually I’m the kinda person that is always thinking about their blog, whether that be new content, comments, photos to take or products to test, but recently I’ve had a lot else going on in my mind. I’m stepping into a new position at work and instead my thoughts have been consumed by the team and never-ending to do lists.

I’ve stopped having ideas bubbling around my head, when I sit down to type I feel stuck. There are no words ready and waiting to be shared or products I’m dying to talk about. For me, this is a pretty clear sign that I need to take a bit of a break. Those with blogs are often honest in terms of wanting to keep their content honest and true. Everyone can tell a forced piece blog post a mile of so to prevent that from happening I’m going to recognise the signs and take that break. I’ve never been in the situation before where I simply haven’t had the time or brain space to think about my blog throughout the day.

Considering I’ve juggling my blog alongside a delivering project where I was working 12-16 hour days, this is definitely a first but something I don’t want to ignore. I love my blog and every single person that reads it so I’m hoping this time away will allow me to get the work stuff back in order so I can free up that part of my brain that loves to obsess over highlighters and liquid lipsticks. Thank you to everyone that has stuck around over the years and if you are new, there are six years worth of content to keep you busy for the next seven days :) See you back here bright and early on the 18th!
