highlighter edit

If you are a lover of beauty, obsessive about cosmetics or simply partake in a couple of YouTube video views each week, you will mostly likely know that highlighter is back. In a big way. Makeup goes through trends and if you haven’t spotted the reflections beaming back off your screens, right now we are experience the epitome of highlighter on fleek. Those A lister gurus declared their love, shared their tutorials in their masses and now we have highlighter palettes, sticks, tools and metallic custom drops (Cover FX I’m looking at you!) all in the aid of achieving that perfect glow.

Although I may not be looking to take things to that supersonic level, I do love to add some sheen and shimmer to the highpoints of my face. To do this I’ve got a fair selection of glow givers to suit any look, mood or season. On the daily I like to grab the Lorac Pro Contour Palette as their shimmer highlight dishes out that perfect amount of light reflecting particles without having to douse your face in glitter. For a cream to powder finish try out the It Cosmetics Hello Light Creme Illuminator* which is perfect for that subtle highlighted finish.

To take things to the next level it’s all about Becca. Firstly their Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal gives you that golden pearl finish. Frosted, intensely pigmented with a soft texture, you know you are going to glow after applying this. Of course we also can’t talk highlighter without talking Jaclyn Hill. Here recent face palette drop as part of her Champagne Pop partnership with Becca sold out and although there has been controversy surrounding the eye palette, you can’t deny the face palette knows how to rock that highlighter game.
