So I may have bought another Kylie Jenner Lipkit #Whoops. I promised myself I wouldn’t, I swore that future Siobhan would not get sucked back into the hype and did not need to stay up until whatever godforsaken hour Kylie picked next in order to get my hands on another Lip Kit. I had three, three was enough but then I saw pictures of Exposed. ‘The perfect nude’ she called it. Nothing like Candy K or Koko K the swatches showed. My current love of nude matte liquid lipsticks got the better of me and there I was 11pm panicked whilst refreshing her website in order to get my hands on this new coveted shade.
Luckily things had improved, 5 minutes in the lip kit was mine and I didn’t have to break a sweat like a nervous woman hiding in the knicker aisle. The cost was the same as last, delivery was quick but this time I was greeted with one of those ugly silver custom charge slips requiring me to pay even more money just to get my hands on what I had already paid for #21stCenturyLifeProblemsAye
But now it is mine! First impressions, where does that orange undertone come from?! What’s really hard with the Kylie Lip Kit swatches is that the shade depends so heavily on your skin tone. I’ve seen swatches of Dolce K, one of the darker brown kits, look pale on some which can make it rather tricky when deciding on what shade will suit you best. Needless to say this didn’t stop the purchase and I’ve found Exposed dries down to bypass the orange instead leaving you with that more true brown nude shade that Kylie raves about. I wouldn’t say I’m head over heels in love, it’s nice but not something I will reach for everyday.
