The Daily Brush Edit

daily brush edit

Recently I’ve switched up my daily brush rotation and added a few new brushes into my morning routine. Over the past two years I’ve remained loyal & dedicated to the Bobbi Brown Sheer Power Brush and Powder Brush to take care of all my contour and powder needs. Although they stood the test of time and have been fab, their age it starting to show and even a deep condition with a hair mask oh yes I went that far couldn’t soften the slightly scratchy edge both these brushes now have. I also got a bit bored of talking about the same brushes day in and day out beauty blogger problems so have bit the bullet and switched things up!

Now one thing that does remain the same is the Kevyn Aucoin Foundation Brush. I know, old news but I really can’t sing this brushes praises enough. It blends in foundation in a heartbeat, doesn’t drag at the skin and I simply adore it. The only negative is I got a bit overzealous with the old soap and water meaning this brush has started to shed badly. However, even with that awful price tag I can actually see me making a repurchase pretty soon! Thats how strong the love is!

For powder I’ve now been reaching for my Morphe M556. Initially bought for blusher purposes I’ve actually found I’ve gotten on better with this when used alongside my Hourglass Powders. You do get a little bit of shedding here but nothing drastic, especially considering this only cost £7.95. I have found it didn’t hold it’s shape for long meaning although it’s marketed as a contour brush thanks to it’s domed tip, I’ve found it better for powdering. One thing you can’t deny though, this is one super soft brush!

Instead for blush I’ve been reaching for the Zoeva 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek Brush*. Not only is this completely Instagram worthy, it does a damn good job as well. The angled cut enables you to focus the product directly to the apples of your cheeks preventing blush overload. Finally the most recent addition comes from American brand IT Cosmetics. Their Heavenly Luxe Dual Airbrush Concealer* comes complete with a buffing side & a smoothing side. Luckily for us Brits IT Cosmetics is making it’s debut over on QVC so we can snap up this coveted Stateside brand. Personally I focus on the buffering side as it blends out my concealer under my eyes and around my nose to prevent any creasing whilst leaving my skin looking airbrushed. You can also grab this brush alongside the cult Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer which works best when used with the buffing to blend out the thick formula.

One thing I am missing is a new contour brush and bronzer brush. Suggestions welcome!
