Feeling that Faux Glow

get that faux glow

It’s getting to that time of the year again when we all strip down to our shorts and strappy tops basking in the almost Summers glow whilst trying not to grimace at those pasty pale limbs clambering around. Although it’s actually pretty darn cold right now cheers British Spring time I have found myself pretty keen to take the edge off my pale Winter’s skin. Nothing too drastic as I’ve pretty much left my hardcore tanning days back in my University digs however I have been using a few products that help in terms of giving that smidge of colour. Just a soft and subtle hint of a glow that I notice more than others, it makes me fear a short sleeved top a bit less.

For Everyday – we’ve all been there and done that when it comes to daily gradual tanners. You know those products that promise to build up a subtle glow day by day however actually end up collecting around you ankles for an unfortunate orange stain that simply will not budge. This St Tropez Everyday Tinted Body Lotion* looks to be the same deal, however it delivers an instant hit of colour. That’s right no waiting 24 hours to see what might or might not have happened. Instead you see that colour from first application. Personally, one layer is enough for me and I don’t go back in daily. You get a smooth application, soft blurring effect and gorgeous soft colour. Hands work best here (just wash afterwards) and there is only a slight scent that lingers throughout the day.

For On the Spot Fixing – sometimes a last minute social event pops up in the calender (or in my case you simply forget & have a panic need to tan situation) which calls for a more instantaneous solution. Think Rimmel Sun Shimmer but upgraded. Here I grab the Vita Liberata Body Blur* to do exactly what is says, blur away those imperfections whilst leaving a sun kissed glow behind. The only warning needed here is that the product sits on the thicker side of consistency, hands work best again however don’t forget to give them a good scrub afterwards. Also, you get a pretty impressive dosing of glitter alongside your application. Sounds intense but it makes it perfect when rocking a dress for a special occasion when you need something to help you feel a bit more confident whilst you’ve got your legs out.

For Your Face – once you’ve got all your limbs nice and bronzed it’s time to focus on your face. Understandably adding a glow to your complexion isn’t the most difficult thing in the world, as we’ve got a whole host of bronzers, contour powders & suped up foundations to give that hint of warmth to our face. But instead I prefer to bypass the slap & opt for a glow inducing mask to do all the hard work for me. That’s where the Vita Liberata Self Tanning Night Moisture Mask* comes into play. Simply apply at night and you awaken with that desired sun kissed glow. Products like these may seem a tad daunting, especially if you’ve got a specially curated skincare routine in place as you don’t want to throw in a product that will only result in breakouts, but luckily I’ve had such no problems. Instead I get a moisturising mask that delivers on hydration and subtle colour. I simply apply this in the evenings post my normal skincare routine and sub this for my normal night oil/moisturiser.
