Beauty Edit: Liquid Bronzer

liquid bronzers

Who else dreams of all things golden after they witness that first slither of sunshine giving us the hope of Spring? Winter results in dull, lacklustre complexions so as soon as the sunshine breaks through the clouds I’m ready and waiting to jump back onto that bronzed up wagon. Needless to say, after months of covering up my body & cowering away from the harsh winter winds my skin tone has reached a whole new level of ghostly. I’m talking a pale hue that would shock the most unassuming of strangers walking past in the street.

To combat the new level of milky I’m rocking you’ll find me reaching for the liquid bronzers. I love these gems that offer up a customisable hit of all things bronzy. Either mixed in with your foundation, applied direct post primer or simply added around the contours of your face, you can quickly (and most importantly) easily add a soft hint of colour to paler complexions. My love affair for liquid bronzers started with the Jouer Sheer Bronzing Tint. Alas I think the availability not his one is pretty sparse however if you do manage to get your hands on it, you won’t regret a thing.

For an easier to source alternative there is the Stila Aqua Glow Perfecting Bronzer. A smooth gel like liquid this instantly adds that hint of colour which you can build up depending on how strong you wish the colour to be. To bring that glow ahead of makeup it’s got to be the This Works Energy Bank Sun Flash*. Initial colour does look alarming however this blends out to leave a soft hint of colour to add warmth to your complexion. Finally another sneaky addition that I believe is out of stock however if you want highlight, glow & bronzed up warmth all in one go, the Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Gelée Bronzer* will have you covered. Now heres hoping they bring it back this year!

Alongside warming up cool complexions, if you’ve ever struggled with your foundation no longer matching after a brief stint in the glorious sunshine a liquid bronzer will be your best friend. Add a dollop to your fave base of choice and instantly you’ve got a whole new shade to play with. Hallelujah!
