Getting back to Blonde

Every since I brought back my natural colour through my roots, I’ve been on a slow decent into ombre land. Yes this was a tad intentional and yes it was nice to see the shine of my darker locks whilst keeping the bright blonde ends, but ultimately that wasn’t the look I wanted. Since going blonde I’ve loved the different colour and by no means am I ready to head back to the darker side just yet. Before the brunette colour truly took over it was time to get back under the layers of foil and bleach to reignite those golden locks.

To switch things up I headed to balayage guru and all round hair god Samantha Cusick. A colourist over at Taylor Taylor in Notting Hill you may already be familiar with her work if you follow the likes of Zoella & Tanya Burr to name but a few. Her ability to seamlessly mesh colours and tones together to create depth and variety is simply incredible. With a huge wait list, if you can nab yourself an appointment you won’t be disappointed.

On the day I didn’t arrive with much planned, rather surprising for a control freak like myself! With a call I had to head back to work for I left my locks to Samantha, aka the person who knows best. We brightened up the roots, brought back the blonde in full force, added lots of colour to the back of my hair where it had gotten super dark and finally added some cool toned iced greys to the tips. A mere two hours later and my darker tresses were transformed. Oplex was added to the bleach and as a treatment to keep damage at bay and I’m left with bright, blonde healthy locks. I adore the colour, love the decked out salon and already have a second appointment booked to head back right before my friends wedding.
