Current Hair Care Routine

hair care routine

Over these past few months there has been a distinct lack of hair talk on these parts of the interwebz, my hair has skipped out on the limelight! Don’t get me wrong in the run up to summer I was all about highlighting, mixing up the tones and keeping those colour appointments on the regular, however ever since that project hit, all my best laid plans were immediately pushed to the side. First was the cut. This took about 3 months to land back into my calendar. Now the colour. My highlights have grown out to such an extent I’m starting to look like a brunette who has fashioned a dip dye out of the tips of her locks!

Before I become sidetracked and get into a rant about the colour of my hair (don’t worry it is finally getting dyed next week!) let’s talk about what we came here for. My haircare routine. A fairly fuss free routine that keeps my locks conditioned, sleek, soft and naturally tousled. A fail safe selection is in rotation so let’s start off in the shower. Here I reach for my Living Proof Perfect Day Shampoo & Living Proof Perfect Day Coordinator. A great set to keep hair clean without weighing down those with fine hair types.

Because of the blonde a lot of the products I use are focused on caring and repairing. Once a week I go in with my Macadamia Deep Repair Mask which is one of the best I’ve come across. Even the smallest amount transforms dried and damaged ends to restore them to that sleek state you knew once existed. Heat is a regular occurrence so whilst everything is still damp I spritz through with the Philip Kingsley Daily Damage Defence. I adore this stuff and find it’s protects, nourishes all whilst keeping everything lightweight and dare I say, bouncy! If my hair is feeling particularly damaged I follow this up with the Gliss Liquid Silk Gloss Hair Express-Repair Conditioner. A cheap as chips product I find oils can cause havoc with my fine texture so opt for this as it brings back the softness without causing everything to flyaway once dry.

Finally if I’m looking for a spot of added grit or hold I apply some of the Macadamia Professional Tousled Texture Finishing Spray* to my roots. It gives you that second hair day finish without the need to wait 24 hours. All that whilst keeping that shine locked in!

What are your go to products to care for your hair? Do you use any of the above products?
