weekend staples

When it comes to the weekend, that’s when I really like to embrace the fuss free paired back makeup looks. Getting myself ‘dolled up’ aka looking presentable when half asleep during the week means that come those blissful two days we call the weekend, I opt for those brands and formulas that don’t take much time yet leave me looking effortlessly done. Light bases, a wash of colour on the cheeks and lids with a balmy lip leaving a soft pink colouring. Perfection!

For a lightweight base it has to be the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua – a long standing favourite this evens out my skin tone without looking heavy on my face. Tried, tested and very loved this is a perfect weekend foundation. I keep concealer nice and simple with the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Concealer whilst adding some colour & dimension to my cheeks with the Soap & Glory Solar Powder. You still won’t catch me skipping blush on the weekend, a pinky huge to add a soft flush of colour is achieved with the Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in 15 Seductive Pink*.

Onto eyes, again it’s all about the quick and the simple. I pop the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise Cream Shadow in Norma Jean across the lid and pair it with lashings of mascara from the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. Finally, a fuss free weekend look wouldn’t be complete without my favourite fuss free lippy, the Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in the shade Have We Met? If I’m Snapchatting at the weekend (over @agirlandabeautyblog) or post a relaxed selfie, this is the look I’ll be rocking.

What are you favourite fuss free makeup products? Do you prefer a laid back look on the weekends?
