Ah blissful holidays. Those precious set of days where you can escape the day to day norm, grab some sunshine and escape! Whenever I am jetting off for a trip away there is a little part of the trip I always get excited for. It’s before I leave the country, before I even board the plane, it’s World Duty Free. That epically sized shop filled to the brim with makeup, perfume, sunglasses, shoes & designer labels all ready for you to splash the cash right before you jet off. To me, duty free is part of the holiday process. It’s where I soak up those last few moments of being in the UK, make the most of the tax free price tags and pickup some new makeup essentials that are simple necessities for the new country I’ll be landed in hours later.
Not only does World Duty Free provide that shopping mecca, it also has a bundle of beauty pampering services ready and waiting for you to indulge in before you board that plane. Yesterday at the gorgeous Heathrow space I opted for a divine hand and arm massage at Jo Malone. Not only did I get a chance to sniff out their new Mimosa & Cardamom fragrance, it also meant I had a moment to sit back, relax and indulge before the travel begun. Whether you are looking for a makeover, full body massage or fragrance consultation, the brands have you covered.
In terms of the beauty bits I picked up before boarding the plane, after trying out the Mimosa & Cardamom fragrance at Jo Malone I couldn’t resist getting their Body Créme*. An indulgent buy, I’ve always wanted to try out one of their lotions which FYI contains as much perfume as their colognes and this was the perfect excuse. Spying the Tom Ford counter is always dangerous and I may have popped their Cognac Sable Eye Quad* into my basket #oops. Duty Free is also a fab place to snap up a bargain. Grabbing my fave Stella McCartney Stella fragrance, 100ml cost £4 that a 30ml bottle. Thank you duty free!
