what ive learnt from blogging

Continuing on from the fact that yesterday marked my five year blogiversary woop woop I thought I would share today a few things I’ve learnt over these past few years in terms of blogging, the community and also how I’ve changed as a content creator. Starting off with those blurry iPhone photos, I’ve transitioned into higher quality tools to improve my content alongside becoming more organised in terms of planning what I share each day.

  • Embrace the fact you’re not always perfect. It’s okay. For example I post daily however on a Sunday I rarely manage to get my post live on time. Don’t ask me what it is about Sundays but I find it impossible to do! Every picture you take won’t be perfect but your flaws make you who you are
  • New blogs will always appear and rise in popularity overnight. Don’t compare yourself to them
  • In fact, don’t compare yourself to anyone else. It’s just not worth it
  • Stick to who you are, even if you feel like you don’t fit in there is always a place for your voice and views
  • You will learn to love photography apart from in the winter when the lighting is never on your side
  • Social media. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to keep up but I’m learning to embrace it
  • Even though HTML seems impossible, picking up a few skills and utilising Google will be your best friend
  • The learning experience never ends. To this day I’m still trying out new tools, tricks, content ideas. It helps keep your blog fresh and your inspiration flowing
  • Don’t be afraid to seek out advice or help from other bloggers. The community around you is incredible
  • Keep trying something new or different, push the boundaries
  • Nothing is wrong or right
  • The passion you have for blogging will only grow further over the years
