The Edit: Daily Makeup Picks

Whilst curating those seasonal makeup looks, there has definitely been a trend thats stood out. My love for minimal makeup is strong and I’m the polar opposite of that girl who used to apply a full coverage matte foundation with a powder foundation on top. My everyday look doesn’t waver from this new makeup menu so I thought I would do a post on what products make the cut and how I’ve been rocking that more natural look.

Foundation, that was once applied by the bucket load, now gets popped on the centre of my face and blended out. Oh yes, some parts of my face don’t even have foundation on them! Crazy talk. My current favourite that I keep going back to is the Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser* in the shade 02. Something about this hydrating base that gives a natural yet flawless finish to the skin is simply too good to pass up. Paired with the Aerin Eyelight Concealer in 01 Light* all imperfections vanish without the skin looking like it’s been caked in makeup.

Contour and bronzer is forever going to be in the mix the joys of big cheeks. To give my face some shape and definition I’ve still been loving the Soap & Glory’s Solar Powder. Both powdered across my face for colour or concentrated into the hollows of my cheeks to contour, it’s a winner. I just wish the packaging was a tad more sturdy! I’ve also fallen back in love with my Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Peach Whisper. Look at it sitting there with it’s big pan shaped hole! Thats love here people. Giving a hint of colour to the cheeks with that flattering subtle flush, it’s hard to go wrong with this gorgeous powder.

For eyes it’s all about simplicity and speed. After always being a fan of the three coloured approach (I know, how dare I think I ever had time to do this) I’ve fallen back in love with  shadow sticks, specifically the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Golden Bronze. A wash of golden goodness is left on the lid that can be blended out with a brush or your finger. It lasts all day and is the most fuss free approach to getting some colour on. Complete with lashings of mascara from the Estée Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Mascara*, you have va va voom volume and length in a quarter of the time. Lips don’t escape the ‘done but undone’ look, here I opt for the Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Colour in Peach Sorbet to give a soft kiss of colour. All in all, a bunch of fuss free products that when paired together, give a natural yet flawless look that can be achieved without needing half an hour on the clock. Makeup perfection.
