Makeup When You’re Feeling Under the Weather

You know those days when you wake up feeling rubbish yet you’ve got a busy day of errands and plans ahead of you that just can’t be put off? All you want to do is hide away from the world under your duvet yet you know you need to pull yourself out of bed and make yourself presentable to get through the day. Well, that is until you’re able to snuggle back up in a dressing gown with a hot drink and plenty of R&R aka Netflix!

On days like these I like to keep makeup to a minimum, something to help me look more human yet nothing that takes too much time of effort. Just enough so I don’t scare people in the street ;) Starting with a tinted moisturiser and lightweight CC cream my pale complexion gets that hint of colour without my skin feeling weighed down. The Origins VitaZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser with Mangosteen gives that Spring glow to lackluster skin whilst the Bourjois 123 Perfect Colour Correcting Cream provides a light base with decent coverage levels.

To awaken puffy and tired eyes I go in with one of my favourite cream shadows, the MaxFactor Excess Shimmer Eyeshadow in 20 Copper*. Moose like in texture this glides onto the lid to give a hint of bronze goodness that stays in place all day no matter how much you sneeze. I like to pair this laid-back look with a dusting of the Pixi Fairy Dust to awaken the inner corner of my eyes and highlight my brow bone. Need a mascara that won’t budge? The Eyeko Sports Waterproof Mascara* will do the trick and even though this doesn’t give the most fluttery of lashes, it stays in place which is just what you need for days when you may be inadvertently rubbing at your eyes.

Before running out the door I dust my cheeks with my fail safe blush MAC Melba and team it with MAC’s Stero Rose to give a healthy flush of colour. Picking up those tried and tested products that you’ve hand in your collection for what feels like yonks not only gives a comforting element, you can trust in their great finish to boost your skin when you are feeling under the weather. Last but by no means least is a bit of brow definition with the Benefit Gimmie Brow Gel that I brush on before wrapping up nice and warm before venturing into the outside world.
