Dry Skin Fixers

dry skin fixers

Over the past few weeks I’ve been battling a bout of dry skin, I’m not sure where it has come from (considering the weather is slowly beginning to heat up) however with dry patches around my eyebrows and foundation disappearing during the day, I’ve had to reach for the hydration savers to knock my skin back into shape. A combination of masks, moisturisers and serums have been called in, individually these help to provide long lasting hydration however paired together they banish the dry skin and ensure it doesn’t rear it’s ugly head again!

Serum – although I can be flakey with this step, it’s vital to give your skin that extra boost of hydration it’s been craving. Naturally you assume moisturisers are where you get this from however teaming a good morning/night cream alongside a hydrating serum and it’s a match made in heaven. I’ve been reaching for the Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Serum thanks to it’s best selling qualities to help give that extra step of hydration to your skincare routine.

Moisturiser – similar to serums, I’ve never been loyal to a single moisturiser. Flitting between brands and formulas theres never been one I’ve loved, that was until I discovered this Trilogy pot. The first moisturiser that repurchased, I have fallen hook line and sinker for the Vital Moisturising Cream. Lightweight in consistency however providing instant nourishment and hydration, this assists skin renewal whilst minimising the signs of ageing. Blending 12 botanic goodies together you get one of the brands and mine favourite moisturisers.

Masks – for those days when nothing helps your skin it’s time to pop on an intensive mask and leave your skin for 10-15 minutes whilst it rebalances and gets all the goodness its been missing. On days when I’ve used a clarifying mask or need a bit more hydration I go for the Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask, not only does this smell incredible, anti-oxidising properties work away to replace tired skin cells. Need a bigger boost or looking for a mask to wear on a long haul flight? It has to be the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask aka my HG wonder. Avocado oil and apricot kernel oil quenches the skin whilst building up a reservoir to keep dryness at bay.

What are your favourite skincare products to battle the dry patches? Any heroes you wouldn’t be without?
