Back when I lived in Bournemouth I operated a mask routine that I stuck to religiously. There was a Friday exfoliator to buff away the week, a Sunday reviver ready for the week ahead and a midweek pick me up for tired skin. Sticking to this routine provided consistency whilst boosting those extra qualities I was missing from my standard cleansing and toning duo. Although I still own a plethora of masks I have completely fallen out of this routine and instead find myself applying masks on a more ad hoc basis sorry skin. Noticing the difference that a good routine makes to the quality of my complexion I am getting back into the mask game with these skincare favourites.
Peter Thomas Roth – picked up back when I was last in the States this Cucumber Gel Masque has quickly become a firm favourite for my naturally red and sensitive skin. With soothing cucumber extract mixed alongside papaya and pineapple, this delivers an intensive cooling sensation that helps to de-puff the skin, reduce irritation whilst hydrating tired skin.
Oskia – it wouldn’t be a mask favourites post if Oskia didn’t make the cut. It’s fair to say I’m officially hooked on this Renaissance Mask thanks to its radiance boosting properties which have been a saviour for my dull and drab complexion. Natural fruit acids buff away impurities stimulating new cells to fight through giving you a new lease of natural glowing skin.
Antipodes – if you suffer from dry or dehydrated skin like me then this Aura Manuka Honey Mask is a must. Not only does it smell simply divine, it instantly boosts those hydration levels leaving you will more supple skin ready for the day ahead. I use this morning or night to give my skin that boost it needs to banish away any pesky dry patches.
Origins – not all masks require the standard 10-15 minutes of waiting time, if you are looking for a quick action mask try out the GinZing Refreshing Mask to Wake Up Tired Skin. I like to apply this in the morning after a long or late night as it’s energising properties help to awaken tired out skin. Coffee beans boost the complexion whist cucumber helps to refresh and sooth. I simply pop this on after cleansing and following up with a moisturiser before going in with my makeup for the day.
