With a new season comes the traditional transitional switch up – amongst the cool breeze of winter we reach for a dark berry lip, summers are all about that highlighted glow and for spring it’s the annual bronze up. Months behind trousers, jumpers and oversized coats results in skin that has reverted back to it’s super pale state. The lack of Vitamin D has taken it’s toll and you might as well change your name on Facebook to Caspar the Friendly Ghost. Instead of jumping in front of those harmful rays for a boost of colour, try out these beauty alternatives that impart that warm bronze tone that you and your skin have been missing.
Faux Glow – like with your standard all over body fake tan, there are also tailored products specifically for your face to enhance those sallow complexions. My fav and longstanding bronzer BFF is the Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning. A lightweight cream that I pop onto a cotton wool pad and glide over my face at night means that I awaken to a natural golden glow come morning. No fuss, no streaks and more importantly no breakouts.
Complexion Perfecters – before going in with my foundation or tinted moisturiser of choice I reach for one of these glow getting moisturisers to kick start my makeup routine on the bronze foot. My HG spring/summer moisturiser is Origins VitzZing as a small pea sized amount worked into the skin warms up your complexion and mimics that holiday glow. For a no makeup makeup look I opt for Garnier’s Miracle Skin Cream* as the white product transforms on the skin to a tinted bronzed base that evens out tone and blurs imperfections.
Bronzed Up Tint – if you’re looking for a cream bronzer that can be used to warm up pale foundations or blend out in the hollows of your cheeks as a contour, try the Jouer Sheer Bronzing Tint. This natural colour gives off that illusive golden honey glow without being detectable on the skin. It’s liquid/cream constancy works perfect during those warmer months meaning you can pop those powders down and stick to the dewy glow getting products.
