Essential Minis

Although holidays are a rare treat throughout the year, I always ensure that I have a stash of mini beauty products to hand for whenever an overnight stay pops up in the calendar or for those occasions when friends stay over. Not only does this make the packing process easier, if my HG beauty product bites the dust I’ve got a mini hidden away to tide me over. Featured in my mini essentials stash are bite sized versions of my fav products, holiday only essentials that are perfect for when you are out and about in the sun and also some multipurpose bits that ease the luggage load.

Skincare is always that step that I struggle to transfer into a suitcase – the liquids, lotions and potions are prone to spilling and cramming a seven step skincare routine into a small travel bag is a pretty impossible task. To combat this I reach for samples and Muji pots, samples are a fab way of transporting skincare without compromising your luggage limit and pots are essential when it comes to decanting. If traveling to a hot country I ensure to pack a hydration intensive moisturiser with one of my favourites being the Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream*. Long haul flights call for the Origins Drink Up Intensive* that I slather on religiously and for any other skincare I simply decant what I need into one of my many Muji pots.

Hair is where minis come alive, pint sized versions of your style best friends to keep your locks looking luscious whilst you are away. To comb away the tangles the only brush up to the job is the Wet Brush that I now have in mini size. Cuteness aside these are the best brushes I’ve used to keep my hair smooth without causing breakages. Volume and texture is down to the Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray and obviously I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t have a mini can of Batiste by my side.

On the flight to remove makeup or any grime from travelling I have a teeny bottle of the Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution to hand or some makeup wipes. I also make sure to pack a eyeshadow quad that can be used day and night. This Rimmel Glam Eyes Quad in Smokey Brown is a great pick as all the shades are super wearable whilst the palette itself is thin and light to stow away. Lastly the cutest mini award goes to the L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil* which I am possibly too scared to use as I never want to be without it. I adore it’s moisturising and smoothing properties as they prevent any dry skin from springing up after being out in the sun.

What are you mini essentials? Do you always have them to hand just in case a holiday lands?
