Budget Beauty: Drugstore Favourites

drugstore favourites

Recently my daily makeup picks have been including a number of drugstore gems that I would be lost without. It’s easy to fall in love with the luxe packaging and inviting displays of the high end beauty world but let’s not overlook those standout budget beauties that give their expensive rivals a run for their money. Today is an ode to all those cheaper items that get just as much love in my collection and are worth a dedicated post praising them.

Although I’ve been flitting into the drugstore foundation world, the item that has transformed my base comes from Maybelline in the form of their sponged tip Instant Anti-Age Eraser Eye. Feeling light on the skin yet this is able to mask all my nasty bags and under eye darkness in one quick swipe. In terms of that illusive contour/bronzing stage there has been one product thats caused me to banish it’s predecessors to the back of the cupboard. Soap & Glory’s Solar Powder I heart you and your two toned goodness. With a warmer shade for colour and a shadow option to create more prominent cheekbones, this just gets the job done.

For eyes it’s between the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeshadow Paint in 006 Rich Russet which FYI I can’t find online – it best not be discontinued! and the L’Oreal Color Riche Mono Eyeshadow in 200 Nude. Both fuss free yet pigmented in colour you can dab these onto your lids and blend out for a wash of bronzed goodness throughout the day. Blush – hello Max Factor Creme Puff Blush Line*. Not only are these little pots Hourglass dupes, their shade selection is on point. Completed with a manicure from Barry M and their Matt Nail Paint in Nude Vanilla* you’re good to go!
