Best of Week: Skincare

2014 skincare favourites

Drum roll please as today marks the start of ‘Best of Week‘, five whole days dedicated to the best of the bunch from 2014. Instead of a gigantic post filled with ramblings and beauty admirations I’ve split my favourites into a week long series that will be coming to you each day at 7am. From categories ranging through makeup, hair and even lifestyle, it’s a bumper pack week so time to kick things off with the Skincare category.

Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil – Hands down this is one of my best skincare discoveries of the year, so good in fact I am almost onto my third bottle! Used to breakdown and remove the majority of my makeup I couldn’t imagine a different product for the first step in my cleansing routine. Gentle on the skin there is no oily or greasy residue left behind just smooth looking skin.

Origins VitaZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser – A rediscovery this year I re-found this gem of a moisturiser towards the end of the Summer just as I was planning to jet off for some late year sun. A repurchase was made and this became my moisturiser of choice before the Winter wind set in. Hydrating with a hint of coverage this should be renamed as the BFF to any tanned complexion.

Alpha H Liquid Gold – Towards the start of 2014 I was battling some pretty problematic skin. Red lumps had taken over across my jaw line and under my nose and no matter what remedies, potions or lotions I battled with, nothing broke them, that was until I brought back Liquid Gold into my skincare routine on a regular basis. Used three times a week the surface of my skin was transformed and all the imperfections were finally banished.

Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask – Picked up on my second trip to the States, as soon as I touched down and landed wallet first into a Sephora I asked for their most hydrating mask for red and parched skin. Gel in consistency this cool and calming treatment is targeted for those with dehydration. An absolute saviour at combating redness whilst soothing irritation my skin would be lost without this.

Omorovicza Deep Cleansing Mask – Moving into the realm of the luxurious this is one of the most expensive masks to have graced my face. Pricey. Yes. Good? Utterly brilliant. My go to mask to detoxify, this works wonders to draw out those impurities whilst helping to clear my skin without leaving it feeling dry or parched. A real treat of a mask this brings the spa like feeling to the comfort of your own home.
