Fighting Talk

Even though my beauty calendar is taking a turn for the festive there are still new products hitting the shelves that promise the earth yet require a spot of testing to see if they can deliver. I get my Inspector Cluedo hat on and I delve into the items in question to investigate whether they live up to their marketed claims (tough job). Two hair products and a new mask are in the mix and they are up on the chopping block – can they live up to the hype?

Origins GinZing Face Mask*

It comes as no surprise that I’m a huge fan of Origins masks, their line up of skincare saviours are staples within my routine and I wouldn’t be without them. As soon as a new one hits the shelves my spider scenes tingle at the anticipation of adding another great mask to the mix. The latest addition comes from their popular GinZing range – a refreshing mask formulated to wake up tired skin. This is slightly different compared to most masks as after 10 minutes you tissue off any excess as opposed to using the old flannel to wash the product away. I find this does help to perk up sleepy skin but doesn’t have that wow factor compared to the other Origins masks that I know and love.

Bumble & Bumble Repair Blow Dry*

If you are looking for a hair serum that promises to turn around dry and damaged hair, the new blow dry range from Bumble & Bumble is where you need to be. I have the repair offering which I put to work as it seemed suited to my thirsty and unruly tresses. Although I found this did help to lock-in moisture, it didn’t have the same ‘wow’ factor in comparison to the Kerastraight Rescue Creme*. The thicker formula failed to transform my locks as promised and overall I was left a tad disappointed. With other blow dry creams in the mix their may be something for you to help achieve the perfect blow dry but sadly this didn’t deliver the goods for me.

Ojon Rare Blend Tamer Wand*

As soon as I saw this tamer I was intrigued, a tiny little wand aimed at popping those rouge hairs back into place, could it be a hero?. First impressions left me assuming this would leave my tresses crispy and in a worse condition before I picked up the wand, oh how wrong I was! Although this gives a very slicked back look, it does the job and does it well. Where it’s applied those hairs won’t cause you bother again and although they look a tad slick this does banish the frizz to leave you with smooth and sleek hair.
