Crushing on Purple Lips

It’s no lie that I’m a fan of purple lipsticks. When it comes to bold lips traditionally most steer towards the red family, on those brave occasions they may even shimmy over into the land of the pinks but on the other end of the spectrum there is me, firmly in the belief of if it ain’t purple, I ain’t interested! I’m not sure what it is, maybe I’m reliving my emo teenager years or perhaps I’ve tricked myself into thinking purple just looks that darn good on me. Whatever the reasoning I heart them and luckily Santa does too as he picked me up two for Christmas morning – you rock Mr Claus!

Starting with the more budget friend option is the Topshop Matte Lip Bullet in Get Me Bodied. Coming in at a mere £8, if you don’t know the song reference then all the Beyoncé shame on you! Not only is that song my jam (I kid you not) it’s now also a long lasting and purpletastic lip pencil. For a matte offering this brings the moisture making application a breeze, also, the nifty shape of the pencil is super handy when it comes that tricky point of trying to define around your cupids bow.

Moving into the more luxe bracket I couldn’t not put the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution in Glastonberry on my wish list. Slightly more drying in comparison this is a darker and vampy take on the traditional purple lip and from it’s gold packing to intense colour it is simply gorgeous from head to toe. Again it comes with a handy shaped bullet to ease those tricky bold lip applications and with a smidgen of lip balm on first, any dry areas will be banished.
