Clutch Bag Essentials

When it comes to the big three aka Christmas Eve, Day & Boxing Day, you often find yourself jumping from house to pub to family gathering making sure you see everyone during the festive period. Whether you are visiting family or galavanting around with friends you don’t want to be faffing with oversized handbags and oodles of beauty bits. Instead it’s time for the streamlined collection that fits perfectly in a clutch and can be carted from dinner to drinks. My essentials are tailored for this time of year and have so far seen me through department dinners, big office parties and an annual friend meal that usually ends up rolling into the wee hours of the morning. Oh what a wonderful time of year!

My focus when it comes to packing a clutch revolves around three main items: powder, lips and perfume. Although I may squeeze in a few extra items, the core collection that I reach for without fail falls into these categories. The Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Powder paired with the RT Retractable Kabuki Brush are my dream duo. To blot away any shine whilst keeping my makeup looking natural and cake free there is no other powder I would rather have stored away. For perfume it’s got to be a rollerball, my favourite is currently the Elizabeth and James Nirvana White Rollerball as it smells truly scrumptious!

Lips will vary depending on my choice for the evening however during the festive social calender you will usually find the Maybeline Color Drama Lipstick in Berry Much on my lips and in my handbag. It’s one of my favourite lip discoveries this year as I find the smooth formula glides onto your lips to give an intense hit of colour that lasts throughout the evening. For added extras I go for a small coin purse, this Kate Spade was a birthday gift that I adore and I sneak in a mini mascara to keep my eyes looking fluttery.
