Look at what I’ve managed to devise here – a chance for me to talk once more about deep vampy, wine berry shades – don’t mind if I do ;) Everyone knows the drill, Summertime you bust out the pastels and neons if you’re feeling brave and rock those lighter shades whilst the sunshine beams overhead. As soon as that chill sets in through the air we dive undercover and go back to our comfort colour that lies within those darker spectrums. This year is no different so instead of babbling on about the need for another maroon in my life, I bring to you my Winter lacquer picks!
The Budgets
Barry M and MaxFactor have a wide range of vamped up offerings to suit any berry lover. Starting with the purples, one of my all time favourite mulberry lacquers comes in the form of Barry M’s 161 Vivid Purple. Deep in colour this gives a vivacious finish that I can wear multiple applications in a row, a true staple. For a long lasting manicure pop on MaxFactors Gel Shine in 60 Sheen Merlot A shine finish that will catch peoples eye, this burgundy polish is the perfect party outfit match.
The Dark
For those shades that are the colour cousin to black, Clinique Black Honey is as dark as they come. A rich wine on the nails the is similar to Essie’s Luxedo but with a tad more red once dry. Clinique polishes are fab quality and this little mini came part of a set I got for Christmas last year.
The Glitter
Winter not only means cold weather, it’s also signifies Christmas therefore a glitter polish or two has to be included. For a true Father Christmas red with that added sparkle go for Essie’s Leading Lady, the glitter particles aren’t too OTT and this also looks great applied as a pedicure for a jazzy toe colour. If you are looking for a berry red take on a glitter then try out Deborah Lipmann in Razzle Dazzle. Again the glitter is slightly muted making a more wearable shade that usually ends up being on my nails in the run up to Christmas Day.
