Although I am a lover of luxury, you can’t deny that our drugstores have some killer products that knock the socks off any beauty fanatic. Purse friendly in price with some prized formulations and colour selections, I’ve noticed my current makeup picks are comprising of more highstreet beauties week by week. Previously I’ve talked all things L’Oreal and Rimmel so today I’m turning the spotlight onto a brand that I’ve only just started to dabble with. MaxFactor it’s your turn and already I’ve got a few favourites that have become staples in my makeup routine.

Gel Shine Lacquer Nail Polish*

Anything that promises a chip free manicure lasting over four days is worth a try in my books. A set of high shine and bold polishes these give a gel like finish and pack some dramatic colour that not only looks impressive, it lasts longer then most lacquers I’ve tried. My favs: Patient Poppy 25 which is a rich and bright red, great for a pedicure, and Sheen Merlot 60 a dark burgundy shade with a secret hit of shimmer. A breeze to apply this give you gel like shine from the ease of your home, the only difficultly lies in picking which one to get from their nine strong collection.

Excess Shimmer Eyeshadow*

This is a first for me – moose whipped shadows. I’ve tried gel, cream and even soufflé formulations before, but these are the lightest consistency I’ve seen from an eyeshadow. Available in six bedazzling shades, they give you long lasting colour that can be used as a base underneath shadow or built up and worn alone. Shocker – the bronze tone in 20 Copper is my go to pick (and a current makeup staple) however if you are looking to vamp up an evening look the intense 30 Onyx and illuminating 10 Pearl transform any daytime look.

Masterpiece Transform Mascara*

If you are looking for lashes that pack some serious volume, look no further then this drugstore beaut that will transform your eyes into a fluttery gaze full of oomph and va va voom. The name doesn’t lie as one application coats each individual lash to plump and thicken giving you an instant false lash effect. Although I found this to sit a tad heavy on my eyes, you can’t deny that it gives some impressive results and really does transform lashes to become thick and sultry beauties.
