Why I Love Shellac

I’ve mentioned in the past how I have a penchant for the odd shellac manicure – their long lasting nature and ability to result in super long nails after three weeks means that they become one of my holiday prep essentials. Previously I’ve only opted for a manicure before said holiday allowing them to grow out once I’ve returned, potentially I’ve also been known to peeeel off the gel after the manicure starts to come away from my nails. Naughty I know as this does cause damage and weakening to the nail , it isn’t recommended but is strangely oh so satisfying!

Recently I’ve upped the manicure anti and have been visiting the salon for back to back treatments, I know lady of leisure much! The reason behind this sudden surge in shellac applications is because of Nail Party. Oh yes you heard me right, a party dedicated to your nails and getting that dreamy long-lasting and chic looking gel manicure. Myself and two friends that I used to work with each hold a nail party in our local towns, we shellac, gossip and then indulge in brunch – perfect right?

I held the first nail party where I got the above deep red/black shade applied to embrace the changing of the seasons. Short and square is how I like my nails and although shellac helps my nails to grow, the joys of a desk job and typing all days means that long nails drive me up the wall so I like to keep them short and neat.
