You know those days when you want to look a tad more put together than a tired grey ghost, yet wish to refrain from piling on your entire makeup routine? These days call out for the five product face. Quick, foolproof whilst enhancing all the right places, at times like these I revert back to a select few staple products that aid in transforming my drab and lacklustre complexion into something more glowy and acceptable out in public.

When going for a more natural look, the base of choice is key to evening out your skin tone and washing the drab away. It sets up the minimal makeup and is the main contributor when it comes to restoring that glow into your skin.I opt for the Dr Jart+ Water Fuse BB Cream as its natural finish looks effortless on the skin and can be applied in seconds with your fingers. Feeling the need to counteract the bags and mask the redness around my nose, the Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Concealer steps up to a more duel purpose tool. Packed full of high coverage yet moisturising properties the finish is undetectable on the skin and leaves your base looking flawless.

Being a girl who can’t live without a bit of contour and blush who else is with me here I use my fail safe Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Waterproof Bronzer paired with the highlighting and illuminating Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Luminous Flush. Definition, lift, glow and a bit of colour gets wrapped up in these two beauties and then it’s down to the last item, a mascara that packs a punch. The L’Oreal Mega Volume Collagene Mascara gives you a false lash effect and brings the drama without the effort. Eyes are instantly opened and lashes are left fluttering throughout the day. If I could add in a sixth, it would be a neutral glossy lip shade but hey, there is always one in my handbag so it doesn’t count as an extra right ;)
