September Favourites

september favourites

Ah the first of October – a month brimming with birthdays (aka mine) busy work schedules and the need to buy every jumper in existence. September managed to fly by and can be summed up in three parts, pre Vegas, Vegas and post Vegas, what a wonderful month ;) Due to said holiday this collection of favourites contains a few unseasonal picks that were staples whilst I was away soaking up the dry heat of the desert. That being said, I am still using them now hence them being given the grand old status of monthly favourite. Now, onto the good stuff!

Origins VitaZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser after not using this hero product for over a year I snapped it up two days before my trip to be my morning base of choice. This helps to inject moisture back into dry and tired skin whilst imparting a natural hue which evens out skin tone and provides a smidge of coverage. I initially winced at the price tag after forgetting it’s cost however after one use I was reminded of how fab it really is. Days by the pool and even mornings at the shops, this was all I wore and my skin had a natural glow that didn’t crave anymore makeup.

NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base – one part of my makeup routine I manage to neglect on a daily basis is my oily eyelids. Yes, by the end of the day my shadow has creased well pretty much disappeared however day in and day out I forgo popping on a primer. Finally I’ve succumbed to the bad looking shadow and have started using this mini primer that came with a NARS palette, the reason why it’s a favourite? It really works! Shadow stays in place throughout the day and this doesn’t sit heavy on my eyelid making it a dream to apply in the mornings.

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask the hype does not lie with this wonder lip product, hydrating, long lasting and intensely nourishing I am already hooked. Thick in consistency I pop this on in the evening before bed and when I awake in the morning my lips are still moisturised. Dry lips are banished and I can now reach for the wine coloured matte lipsticks without the fear!

Clarins After Sun Moisturiser Self TanningI’ve spoken about this holiday essential multiple times on this dear blog as every time I board a plane, I ensure I have a bottle in tow. Not only does this work as an after-sun to reduce any redness your skin has developed during the day, it adds a hint of colour to reduce my oh so pale glow. I try to only pop this on a three times a week as daily causes the colour to build up too harsh, but used sparingly your holiday glow will live on even when you land back home.

Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Concealerit’s official, I have a new concealer love. Whilst pursuing the aisles of Sephora I had my eye on a high coverage concealer that didn’t come with a doe-foot applicator. I looked at a number of brands but the consistency remained thick, unbendable and tacky, not something you want when covering dry blemishes. After hearing lots of good things about the Kat Von D range I picked up the tattoo concealer on a whim and fell in love. This is the most moisturising high coverage concealer I have ever come across and it has quickly become a staple item when masking my breakouts and imperfections. From colour match down to formulation and packaging, it’s a hit!

Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask being a person that suffers with red skin, a cooling mask packed full of chamomile, orange, lemon, aloe and papaya sounds like skincare heaven. When I saw this all packed inside a single mask I snapped it up pronto. Able to distill inflamed areas, my skin is left calm and noticeably happier after a single use. I pop this on a couple of times a week after cleansing to keep everything in check but for an added kick of cooling sensation, leave this in the fridge to banish away those puffy areas.
