Adding Some Decoration

Even though I don’t have an entire flat to decorate, I do love adding key decorative pieces around my room to give the space a bit of character and life. These items also end up featuring in one too many blog photos as not only do they help to switch up a usually drab & dreary background, it means that I can finally justify getting a pineapple book-stand ;) Snapped above are just a couple of goodies that have resided in their new home, yes one of them is a bus but what can I say, the anorak within has broken free and I’m ready to tell the world that I am a bus fanatic! Starting with a trip to the London Transport Museum where I got to ‘drive’ a bus, I then couldn’t leave without picking up a new style routemaster with mini post box accompaniment. Okay it’s just a childs model but I love it all the same and it sits pride of place on my dresser – no shame!

I also got thee golden pineapple aka the Kate Gh0stparties special. Available from Debenhams Homeware (the place to get all pineapple goodness) this is a metal pot in which the top section can be removed to reveal some secret inside storage. In here you can keep cotton wool pads, hair bobbles or anything else that would be a tad unsightly if left out on display. What’s great about this gorgeous pineapple is not only is it striking, it isn’t too large so it can fit in snug corner on almost any surface or counter. Finally, shock horror a candle. My first candle from Anthropologie this is the Whipped Cream & Pear fragrance and boy is it a goodun. Housed in a Illume Boulangerie Jar this gives 40 hours of burn time and fills the room with a soft sweet scent that lingers even when the candle is put out. Divine!
