usa essentials

With the last few posts being all about the rather impressively sized hauls I’ve been partaking in, today is going to be dedicated to those USA beauty essentials that you just have to buy when you are over in the States. These should be at the top of your wish list and ever since bringing them back with me across the pond, I couldn’t be without them. I have my fingers and toes crossed that they will be making their way over here permanently but until then, get your USA wish lists at the ready!

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy – this product doesn’t need an introduction. As you can see from the pretty large hole in the middle of the pan this is one of my most loved items. My go to blush of choice for all occasions, it’s long lasting, a gorgeous colour that imparts a healthy glow on the cheeks and is super pigmented so a little goes a long way. I’ve had this for over a year and it’s still going strong.

Bite Agave Lip Mask – it took me forever to get my hands on this wonder product thanks to it’s sell out status but finally it’s in my mitts and boy does it live up to all the raves it has received. A leave on hydrating mask this banishes chapped and dry lips to leave behind a soft and supple texture that is ready for even the most matte of lipsticks. The combination of agave nectar, jojoba oil and vanilla keeps your lips smooth throughout the day.

Minis! – if you have step foot inside a Sephora you will know the aisle at the checkout is super dangerous. Filled with all your favourites in cute mini size it’s near on impossible not to add at least three extra items to your basket. This adorable little Hourglass Lipgloss is testament to how dinky everything is – when it’s small and mini sized it just has to be bought!

Rollerball Perfume – one of my pet peeves I still can’t fathom out is how the UK hasn’t managed to master rollerball perfumes. They are an essential and make carrying around a perfume in your handbag a breeze. I always manage to come home with at least one fragrance when I’ve been away and whether it’s to stock up on your favourite or try something new without forking out for a whole bottle, rollerballs are always at the top of my ‘to buy’ lists.

Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm – it’s simple, this hyped up cleansing balm has become so popular I’ve never been able to purchase it in the UK. Sephora has stock by the bucket load so whenever I am near one, it’s the first thing I pick up. A staple cleanser this dissolves away makeup without leaving your face feeling stripped or dry. One of my HG skincare items.

Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Concealer – with my skin being breakout city I’ve been going through concealers by the bucketload. One thing I’ve found is that those with a doe foot applicator become a breading ground to bacteria and sometimes make my skincare problems worse. When looking for a high coverage concealer this took me by surprise as not only does it pack the coverage, it feels super hydrating on the skin. No dry patches and blemishes covered – perfection.

Formula X Nail Varnishes – one of my favourite nail discoveries has been these Formula X Nail Varnishes. They are a dream to apply, last 4-5 days on the nails and come in a array of colours that look rather breathtaking when displayed! As they can’t be shipped across the pond make sure you snap one up when you are in the States. Even better grab one of their system packages to get a cleanser, base coat, top coat and polish all for a friendly cost effective price.
