The Edit: Best Brushes

I would be a lost little round face lacking definition if someone were to takeaway all my makeup brushes. They are my bread and butter, my staple in achieving a face that won’t make morning commuters stand and stare whilst they are trying to keep their breakfast down. Over the years I have tried my fair share of brushes, overpriced MAC ones, cheapy £2 brushes from Superdrug, you name it and I’ve probably given it a whirl. It’s taken me a while to perfect my collection and every few months I feel the need to pickup something new. That being said, this pick of five have been staples since Christmas and I can’t see that changing anytime soon…

Duo Act for the Face – I give you the RT Blush Brush and Moxi Angled Buffing Brush* Two must have complexion enhancers these help achieve the impossible when I am doubtful whether any amount of makeup can mask the bags come morning. The RT Blush Brush is used solely for bronzer, I find it’s tapered tip lolz and brushy bristles not only concentrate the colour in the hollows of my cheeks, it doubles up as a blending brush to reduce harsh lines and keep everything look eu natural. The Moxi brush packs on the under eye concealer without making it appear cakey or heavy and blends in concealer to leave your skin looking flawless.

The Only Three Eye Brushes You Need – that’s right you read it here first folks! When it comes to my daily eye look, these are the only three brushes I reach for. The Liz Earle Eye Colour Brush* is a hybrid of flat shader and fluffy blender in one. I use this for my lid shade as it gives an intense wash of colour that can be easily blended out ready for the next crease shade. Queue the Sigma E45 Small Tapered Blending  and Sigma E25 Blending Brush. Paired together these create an effortless smokey eye. The taper blending brush pops the darker shade neatly into the crease of the eye and the blending brush does all the hard work for you to create a soft and smokey look. I prefer this blending brush to the MAC 217 as I find it’s easier to use and creates a more natural look.

Do any of these brushes feature in your favourites? What are you must have makeup brushes?
