YSL Palette Collector Yeux SS15 Eye Shadow Palette*

Hands up – who else is a fan of luxe eyeshadow palettes? Something about their super swish packaging, expert colour selection and buttery pigmentations leaves me swooning. I try and restrain myself, it’s not normal for a human to have more palettes then there are days in the month (I don’t I promise!), but when these new YSL beauts hit the shelves it’s impossible for me to say no. Available in eight different shade options or harmonies as they like to call it each comprises of five complementary colours that you can mix and match to create a multitude of looks.

The palette above is called Afrique and contains a set of neutral shades, I know, shock horror. For those of you that love a bit of colour there are some more daring options available including a mix of blues, green and purples, something for everyone! Within the palette you have all your bases covered, a highlight colour, lid shade and crease definer are all inside, not forgetting a big old mirror and two shadow applicators making on to go makeup super easy. As you’d expect from a brand like YSL the quality is second to none. The shadows do come out a touch chalky and you can see some of the shimmer fall out in the picture above, however it’s not drastic and a good primer will keep everything set in place.

With a luxe brand comes a luxe price tag and although these aren’t the most accessible palettes for everyone, they make a great present or indulgence purchase. You can go as bold or neutral as you wish with the shades available and the option is there to quickly and easily transform a toned down day look into a vampy evening smokey eye. I also may be slightly obsessed with the middle warm purple/brown shade that I’ve managed to incorporate into pretty much every makeup look since getting this palette ;)
