The Edit: Summertime Blush

edit blushers

I am a big fan of popping a blush onto the apples of my cheeks, no matter the season I think that the addition of this flush of colour can make a big difference to your face and complexion. Contouring has been a recent addition over the past few years but blusher has been going strong ever since I first delved into the realms of makeup. MAC Melba used to be my only blush pick however now my collection spans a slightly larger selection of colours ;) For Summer, these are my top four blushers for a soft hint of colour that will keep you looking healthy and glowing throughout the season.

Nars Deep Throat – This little mini blush from Nars was part of a Sephora points perk I received whilst on holiday. Not being a fan of the infamous Orgasm shade, I was sceptical when I saw this as part of the perk. Instead of the golden red tones of it’s cousin, Deep Throat is a shimmering pink blush that looks super flattering when dusted onto your cheek. It is a lighter colour therefore gives a hint of colour without looking like you’ve been running through the park on a hot summers day.

The Balm How ‘Bout Them Apples Cheek & Lip Cream in Pie – During the warmer days cream blushers are your BFF. They last throughout the heat and give a flattering finish to your face, dewy light and natural. Perfection! This is the first product I’ve tried from the Balm and they have impressed me with their formulas and pigmentation. Pie is a luminous redy/pink shade and a small amount blended onto your cheeks give a natural flush of colour. What’s great is that the formulations are duel purpose and can be popped onto your lips for a bit of added colour.

Stila Convertible Colour in Lilium – Finally I got my hands on this hyped blush and boy am I glad that I did. Blended onto your cheeks this gives a soft pinky sheen that is flattering on almost any skin tone. It is compact and contains a mirror which makes it perfect for travelling and again, this will stay in place throughout the day. A dream to blend this is one of my fav cream blushers at the moment.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Luminous Flush – Oh Hourglass, how you manage to knock it out of the park every single time! The name says it all with this one and recently, all you will find my on cheeks is this champagne pink shade. A hybrid of blush and highlight this gives a dusting of colour to your cheeks whilst imparting a natural sheeny glow. A pinky coral hybrid this shade stood out on the Hourglass stand and I am so glad I added it to my collection.
