Over the past few weeks there has been an impressive little influx in the mascara department within my collection, after being oh so loyal to my much loved L’Oreal Mega Volume Collagen Mascara for the past year the need to try something new was starting to bubble away at the surface. Naturally, this was not ignored so today I am doing a little roundup of all the newbies and letting you know how they have faired up in the mascara testing series. As I’m sure you’ve spotted there is a sneaky little brow product that has also been added to the collection, needless to say it’s made me realise how much I do need to pay attention to my brows!

Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara – This budget mascara has been doing the rounds recently thanks to it’s claim of instant supped up lashes boasting oodles of volume and lift. Unfortunately with the hype it meant that this little wand felt short of my wishes. I find this is more suited to an everyday look however for evenings I like to use something that packs a bit more power. The unique brush with spherical bristles does catch every lash and you don’t get any clumps whilst applying it.

Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara – After trying the Clinique High Impact Mascara it was only a matter of time before the Extreme Volume version landed into my mitts. For something that boasts extreme volume I would have to say it falls short in the extreme category, however it does give a nice lift to my lashes. When mascaras promise volume I instantly compare them to the L’Oreal offering that turns my little lashes into ones that look like falsies, they have some stiff competition and so far L’Oreal still reigns supreme!

bareMinerals Lash Domination* – Not having previously tried a bareMinerals mascara I had little to no expectation of this lash domination wand yet the marketing behind it claims a heck of a lot. Volume, length, lift, zero clumps and all day wear are a few of the promises that this mascara makes. Although it may not produce 345% increase in volume with two coats, it does give a fairly dramatic effect. The best out of the bunch this bareMinerals mascara gets two big thumbs up from me.

Benefit Gimmie Brow – Oh brows, I always like to forget about you but as soon as I pay you a smidgen of attention you show off the difference that it makes. I am current overdue a lash tinting visit so at the mo my brows are sitting on the slightly sparse side. Looking for a quick and easy fix to add some colour and shape to these tamed caterpillars I picked up the Benefit Gimme Brow gel. A tinted gel that not only imparts colour it helps to keep your brows in place, and I love this stuff! It doesn’t dry crispy on your brows, no flaking occurs throughout the day, you get great colour in one quick and easy application. It may seem like an unnecessary expensive but my brows would be lost, literally, without this!

Have you given any of these products a whirl? What are you fav eye products at the moment?
