One of the things I love about London is that no matter the day or time, there is never a shortage of activities for you to partake in. All you need is a travel card in toe and the underground map is your oyster. Days can be spent hopping on and off the tube exploring the different towns, streets and cafés that this great city has to offer whilst you share great memories with great friends. Although I’ve lived in London all my life I still act like a complete tourist when in the city. You would think that the daily commute to Oxford Circus would damper my excitement but nope, I still act like a little kid whenever I come across the sites of Trafalgar Square, the bright lights of Piccadilly Circus or even winding streets of China Town. I am a Londoner through and through! Yesterday I grabbed my camera and parents! and headed into Covent Garden to have a mooch around and indulge in a spot of lunch. Without a plan of action we were free to nosey at menus, decipher decors and step into which ever restaurant took our fancy.
Wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of the main square we stumbled across a restaurant called Pasta Brown, with a bevy of carbs on the menu it was a win for me! As soon as you walked through the door you felt welcomed, we sat down to mere moments later be handed a delicious plate of home made focaccia. We were off to a good start ;) Too hungry for starters we dove in with mains and I ordered the breaded escalope with mozzarella and tomato with a side of caesar salad. Needless to say, everything was demolished and the plates were left bare, a sign of a good meal! With a hankering for something sweet we finished off the afternoon with a sneaky stop off in Venchi, aka, ice cream heaven. If you like creamy, full of flavour ice cream then this is the place to be. I had a mixture of hazelnut with milk chocolate and boy was it good, there may have been a little bit of cup licking going on once all the ice cream was eaten! What can I say, no shame ;)
Have you headed to Covent Garden before? Which are your favourite places to visit?
