GHD V Gold Classic Styler*

There is one single hair tool that I would never be without. Even though I openly admit I hate my hair straight, my must have electronic device when it comes to styling my hair is my much loved GHD Stylers. For a number of years I have always had one by my side and honestly I think I would be lost without it. Whether it be for smoothing out unwanted kinks, flattening down any frizz or to simply create the perfect curl, my GHDs win, hands down every time. Since my first pair of straighteners (the pink breast cancer limited edition ones that yes are over seven years old) I’ve been overdue an upgrade. With GHDs the different colours and offers can be tempting, but at the end of the day the original still has everything you need and you can trust it to get the job done.

Housed in sleek black packaging with a slight bubble design on the base of the device, the gold branding is more striking and overall I find the V Gold Styler to look more slimline. Upon first use of the GHD V Gold Styler it was clear to see how old and tattered my previous pair were. Don’t get me wrong they still look pretty brand spanking new, but I felt their heat retention had slightly deteriorated and I also found they didn’t glide through my hair with ease. First use with the new stylers and achieving a perfect hair day could be done with ease. Compared to the old model the V Gold Classic Styler comes with a slight adjustment in design. The power switch is more uniform, the beep when hot is slightly louder and you get a nifty cap to pop onto your straightens when you have finished using them but they are still hot. Health and safety conscious!

Although GHD’s are expensive, knowing how long they last and how they have never let me down, I wouldn’t be without them. My favourite style to create using the stylers is a soft and natural curl. A curl made with my GHDs compared to any other barrelled wand, holds for longer and I find GHDs are quicker and easier to use. Bouncy curls with tons of volume I section off my hair and lift the straighter away from my face whilst twisting to give a more loose finished curl.  This means I don’t have to faff around with brushing them out as my hair is ready to go instantly. Every styler comes with a two year manufactures guarantee so you can be reassured your pair will be taken care of and I find they are one of those investment pieces that you will never look back on purchasing. With GHDs now available at places like Argos, your local salon or via a number of online retailers, they are easier then ever to add into your haircare routine.
