Guild Salon*

On Friday night I took myself down the Kings Road and ventured into a new salon experience from the company Guild. Originating from a French salon based in Paris, the founder Philippe Gentner has brought the rich heritage of the French Haute Coiffure trends to the streets of London. Tucked away towards the end of the Kings Road this salon looks every bit Parisian and offers you treatments, cuts, colours in the downstairs bespoke built colour bar and even manicures at their very own Shellac station. If you want to completely push the boat out on the services menu is also the ability to have a makeover using the incredible brand Ellis Fass. The unique interior of the salon matched with the tones of French being spoken throughout the floor, close your eyes for a moment and it would be hard not to think that you had been transported to Paris.

At the salon I was under the trusted hands of Sebastien a senior designer who listened and worked with me to achieve something that I wanted but also suited my hair and skin colour. Due to my roots requiring desperate attention this was the focus of my visit. Numerous colour visits and sun trips left my hair looking rather dry and cool. The warmth was lost and I felt my blonde was looking too stark. As opposed to adding in more bleach Sebastien placed highlights throughout my hair to blend in at the roots and then gave my hair a gloss to help create a more honey tone. Overall the colour looks more natural and better suited to Winter. I feel a tad too brown however I think that’s just down to the fact I was so blonde before!

I was very impressed by the service at Guild and the skills of their hairdressers. From the colour bar to the fun wash stations with colour changing light displays, this is a unique salon that suits it’s Chelsea surroundings. A new experience compared to other chain salons that populate London and a welcome change to the standard London hairdressing experience.
