Batiste Oriental Dry Shampoo – £2.99* | Batiste Monochrome Dry Shampoo – £2.99*

Batiste (my one true hair love) have been going through a few changes recently. Cans are being discontinued and new scents and designs are popping up on the shelves of your favourite highstreet stores. If you saw my post on Saturday (which you can read here) you will know that I am a devoted fan of their Lace can – sadly now discontinued it’s time to see if any of their new additions live up to Lace’s holy grail status. The two new recent cans to the Batiste family are Oriental and Monochrome. Both are presented in a stylish design that looks striking when added to your bathrooms or cupboards. At purse friendly prices (and a current £1.99 offer on at Boots) you can refresh your hair in-between washes without breaking the bank.

Oriental has now stolen the prize for best scented Batiste can. It contains hints of fruit, flowers and coconut that leaves your tresses with a soft and subtle fragrance. It doesn’t’ quite have the invisible powers compared to Lace but the traces left behind are almost undetectable, anything that is there can easily be resolved with a brush. I took this can away with me on holiday and it helped to keep any greasy hair at bay whilst also injecting some much needed volume and texture. Monochrome brings the sixties to your haircare routine. With a stronger fragrance in comparison to Oriental I find this one doesn’t quite have the scent but holds up better in terms of blending naturally into your hair. All the recent cans of Batiste don’t make my hair feel gritty and I find that compared to the originals the formulas have vastly improved.
