Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm – £21

A hint of sun and we are all running towards tinted moisturisers and dewy skin but bring on the cold and all we want to do is layer on the balms and oils.  It’s the same every season and although we pretty much know what to expect weather wise, our skin still takes some time to adjust. To help throughout this adjustment period I picked up the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm whilst out in Duabi. Good job I did as I came home to it being out of stock in stores and online. A no fuss, no bells and whistles cleanser this lifts away all the makeup and grime to leave behind soft and hydrated skin.

One of the first things you will notice from this cleanser (apart from the fact that it comes in an unpackaged box so make sure you check it hasn’t been tampered with before purchasing) is the fact it is unscented. Perfect for anyone with sensitive or problematic skin you can be rest assured this won’t cause any irritation. Some people prefer a perfumed or scented product but I like knowing there there is nothing in here that will counteract the cleanser or cause any problems with my skin.

Used as my initial cleanse in the evenings I take the smallest amount of this balm and rub it between my fingers before massaging it into my skin. It melts into a soft and silky texture that dissolves away makeup, suncream and even waterproof mascara. This helps to prevent my skin from being stripped of any moisture and even though it is unscented and can seem a tad plain, I find the texture to feel really lovely on my skin. This pot will last you through the changing of the seasons and doesn’t break the bank – it’s a win win in my books!
