MUA Colour Blast Eyeshadow Tint in Loud and A Girl Like Me – £3*

I am a shadow lover through and through. Whether it be a quick wash of colour when I’m in a rush or a more put together smokey eye, I am rarely seen without shadow on my lids. Saying that, anything aimed at speeding up the process or that can help me achieve the look quicker, my spider senses end up tingling and I’m ready to put it to the test. From creams, pigments and palettes I’ve got it and tried it, but one of those key items that I depend upon come an early morning start is a shadow stick. Recently budget beauty brand MUA launched a range of Colour Blast Eyeshadow Pencils that give you colour in one quick and easy step.

The two shades that have worked their way into my makeup routine are Loud and A Girl Like Me. Loud is a dark purple shade that you can see swatched at the bottom and A Girl Like Me is a shimmering taupe colour. Before we continue, the first thing that needs to be said is these colour sticks are a no-sharpener needed zone. Pencils that require sharpening are not my friends so as soon as I saw the twist feature on these sticks, my eyes lit up and I may have danced on the spot. Sharpening aside the colour payoff you get from these shadows are pretty darn great. As you can see from the swatches the colour is intense and for a budget beauty brand the wear you get is pretty decent (but pop on a primer just to be on the safe side).

Understandably these are not the most creamy formulas I have ever come across, but for £3, no need to sharpen and a range of natural and evening shades available, these have won me over. I use them as either an all over colour across my lid, smoked out along my lash line or underneath a shadow to help intensify the colour. For an inexpensive way to incorporate a bit of shadow into your everyday look, you can’t go wrong with these shadow sticks from MUA.
