Brow Pencil in 01 Fair – £11* | Lash Definition Smudgeproof Mascara in 01 Black – £14.50*

Liz Earle are a brand that haven’t been mentioned for a while here in the World of AGAABB (one of these days I will think of a better blog short name!) Two years ago you would have found them towards the top of my favourite brands list but since spreading my beauty wings elsewhere, I have become less enamoured with the company. Their infamous Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser stopped working wonders and since their foray into Boots, I’ve been a bit wary. That being said, after they branched into the cosmetics industry with a range of makeup essentials last year, their Natural Glow Bronzer* is still part of my everyday makeup routine.

Other beauty essentials I depend on when it comes to donning my face for work are mascaras and brows pencils. Let’s see if these items can live up to the glory of their bronzer in my eyes. The Lash Definition Smudgeproof Mascara is a fairly unobtrusive looking product that is housed within signature blue packaging. From the outside it doesn’t look anything special but luckily the magic is kept inside. The wand is fairly long and thin which allows you to coat every last lash within a single application. It doesn’t give the most voluminous look however it helps to lengthen and separate my lashes to help them look fuller. The smudgeproof in the name stands the test of time without you needing a waterproof eyemakeup remover at the end of the day. This get’s two thumbs up from me.

The Brow Pencil is unfortunately where Liz Earle rave train ends. For £11 I personally don’t see a lot of difference between this pencil and one you can buy for £2/3 from Rimmel. Yes you are able to achieve natural looking brows that can be shaped and defined, however that’s about it. It is a standard brow pencil with no bells and whistles. You don’t get any product build up which is good however once I’ve finished my brows the pencil is blunt and the need for a pesky sharpener has risen. A nice and natural looking pencil but nothing ground breaking for me over here.
