Hauling Up Some Beauty

london blogger

Following on from yesterday’s post where I sang the praises of the London beauty halls, it’s only right that I delved into the stands myself and indulged in a few beauty treats. That’s right my friends – shopping has occurred! When these instances pop up it means one thing and one thing only, it’s time to share with you the goodies I picked up and show what left my bank balance curled over in the foetal position. Believe me it is still reeling from the shock.

To ease myself into the shopping extravaganza I started off light with the Nip + Fab CC Eye Fix in Light. A repurchase that has been long overdue I jumped for joy at the site of this within the Selfridges beauty hall. It’s praises have been sung a number of times on this blog and I turn to this to help concealer and lighten my pesky under-eye circles. The next purse pounding hit came from the highly anticipated Charlotte Tilbery stand. One of the most exciting beauty launches in the last few years, I could have spent all day at the stand eyeing up goodies that were on offer. Not the cheapest of brands I told myself ‘look but don’t buy’ but as you can see from the photos this lasted a whole 30 seconds.

The item that took my breath away was the Colour Chameleon Colour-Morphing Eyeshadow Pencils in Champagne Diamonds, as soon as it was swatched I knew it had to be mine. A gorgeous pearlescent nude champagne shade this makes the perfect lid shade or inner corner highlight. Silky soft and colour that glides onto the lids, blend quickly as they literally set in place for the rest of the day. The next purchase was a complete shock, oh yes I’m looking at you Filmstar Bronze & Glow. I have an abundance of bronzers and highlighters which makes the need for this nonexistent, but when asked if I wanted to try anything out, I had to give it a whirl. Online photos make this look dull but in person the colours shine out. A complete indulgence but with an impending holiday I argued this would be perfect for travelling ;)

Last but by no means least was a sneaky Nails Inc purchase in Fenwick. I have been going sans nail varnish for a number of weeks now and thought this would be a good addition to ease me back in. Marketed as lasting longer then your standard polish whilst ‘plumping’ your nails, I opted for my all-time favourite nude shade Porchester Square to put it to the test. After this indulgence my wallet has been stapled shut – well that’s until my next lot of empties run out ;)
