Today’s edition of Super Saturday brings you an item that doesn’t receive a whole lotta love. Don’t get me wrong there is a lot of buzz around the range of products and brand itself, but this release always falls second best. If you haven’t guessed by now (and the big picture wasn’t a massive giveaway!) I am talking about the Naked 2 Palette.
This was the second ‘naked’ release from cosmetic powerhouse Urban Decay and followed hot on the heels of their much loved Naked Palette. This eyeshadow set quickly became every smokey eyed gals best friend however their follow up release fell a little short. The Naked 2 Palette contains much cooler toned shadows with a bunch full of glitter that many people are put off by. I was the same, I bought the palette because of the hype but then pushed it to the back of the cupboard in favour of it’s older sister. None of the shadows stood out to me and I felt a lot more at ease with the original Naked Palette in my grips.
Recently however the tables have turned, so much so that the past two weekends I went back to London this was the only palette I took with me – that shows some serious love! I’ve found a combination that I adore and these past couple of months it has been my go to look. As you can see in photos my most used shadow is Bootycall (the Virgin of the second release). I use this as an inner corner highlight and dust it all over my lid to help brighten and lighten. Followed with Tease in the outter corner and Busted for a bit of shimmer and definition you have a quick and simple smokey eye. Foxy is also a great matte shade that is perfect for highlighting under the brow bone.
Although there are not as many shadows I would happily use compared to the original, there are a few hidden gems that if you pair carefully together, look the part without creating a disco ball on your lids.
