Vichy Capital Soleil SPF 50 – £11.60* | La Roche-Posay Anthelios Dry Touch Gel-Cream – £12.37*

This post has been sitting in my drafts folder waiting for our friend the sun to make an appearance and bestow on us a Summer. Thankfully that blissful time has arrived so before you pick up your picnic blanket or rush down to the beach, make sure you are stocked up in the SPF department. Even if the clouds are covering the beaming ray of light, is it important to pop on a decent SPF everyday. To get the full impact skip over the moisturiser + SPF and get ready to start including a full SPF into your skincare routine. Applied last after moisturiser and serum in the mornings, this will set you and your skin up for the day ahead.

When it comes to SPF’s there are a number of budget beauty buys on the market that give the higher end brands a run for their money. My favourites are the two above from Vichy and La Roche-Posay. What’s brilliant is that they don’t cost the earth and they can be picked up from your local Boots. They also come in a high SPF factor of 50 which I like to apply to my face to ensure that it is fully protected from the sun.

After giving both of these a try I lean towards the La Roche-Posay Anthelios Dry Touch Gel-Cream as my favourite as it seems to suit my combination skin, the Vichy Capital Soleil may be better for any drier skinned gals as is it slightly heavier. Both of them sink into the skin without leaving any traces of white residue and they don’t impact my makeup application afterwards. The Vichy offering contains hyaluronic acid to help plump the skin and is water resistance and the La Roche-Posay cream gives UVA and UVB protection whilst being suitable for sensitive skin.

To keep your skin protected and prevent early aging, snap up an SPF and get yourself protected in the sun.
