With the sun up ahead cascading down a beautiful golden glow, our minds turn to SPF and sun protection. All the hardcore skincare junkies in the world will tell you that sun care is not just for Summer and an SPF should be used all year round. I can hold my hands up and admit that an SPF is completely lacking in my skincare routine, partly due to being pretty clueless on the topic and not knowing what’s best to use, and partly due to sheer laziness. Once you’ve already cleansed, toned, popped on a serum, moisturiser and primer, adding an SPF into the mix can seem a little much. However, if you want to keep your skin looking young and fresh, get ready to reach for the factor 30.
When I think of sun protection my mind instantly wonders to the world of Chantecaille and their Ultra Sun Protection SPF 50 Primer. Parked at a bank busting £76 this is sitting on my wish (but can never afford) list and the hunt for a cheaper option began. I am already a big fan of Antipodes with their Reincarnation Exfoliator and Aura Manuka Honey Mask already staples in my skincare stash. Immortal is an SPF 15 face and body moisturiser that provides natural sun protection. This will protect you from UVA and UVB rays but also help to moisturise and hydrate your skin thanks to the plant-based hyaluronic acid that is packed away.
I mix this in with my daily moisturiser and don’t find it to be heavy on my skin nor leave me with a white masked face. I know SPF mixed in a moisturiser is a bit of a no go area and specific sun protectors should be used instead, but for an SPF noob this is helping me to jump into the world of sun protection and it ensures that I have a level of SPF applied everyday.
