Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift and Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm – £34

Quick disclaimer – this is a non review. How can you have a non review on a beauty blog I hear you ask? Well I am still trying to formulate the answer to that question, but the reason why it is happening today is because for once, I don’t have an opinion. Hard to believe when I feel like I’m the most opinionated person around, and even harder to believe when the product being featured is the much hyped Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift and Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm try saying that backwards three times in a row ;) I have been using this balm cleanser for quite a while now and have almost hit the half way point on the pot. You’d think in that amount of time I would have been able to fathom how I feel about it but for some reason this little item leaves me baffled. I don’t like it, I don’t hate, for once I am indifferent.

I started using this cleanser hot off the heals of the REN Cleansing Balm* which I loved. Yes I couldn’t use it to remove those last traces of eye makeup as it would leave my eyes stinging, but there was something about it that myself and my skin fell for. I had high hope for this Emma Hardie offering as every beauty blogger was quick to offer a full rave of how it is their favourite cleanser. I even debated getting the NUDE Perfect Cleansing Oil instead but was swayed towards this. With all my high hopes and skincare excitement that ensued as soon as I popped in the order, the lasting impact it has left on myself and my skin is – meh. Don’t get me wrong this cleanses my skin, leaves my face feeling refreshed and hydrated and it hasn’t left me with thousands of breakouts, but there is something about it’s orange fragrance that leaves me less then excited. The REN Cleanser would become milky on the skin when water was added but this cleanser disappears almost as you work it in. Call me crazy but I feel like I want to see the cleanser on my skin to know it is there and doing it’s job. This just melts away, yes my makeup melts away with it, but yet I am left with that nonchalant feeling.

Part of me wonders if this is just too heavy for my skin and part of me wonders if my skin is just not ready to appreciate what this has to offer. I have only just entered the world of serums and oils so this super nourishing formula that is advertised as suitable for mature skins, might just be too much for me. I don’t want to completely right it off as I have enjoyed using it but right now I will not be singing it’s praises from the heavens above. Look at me trying to be all individual :P

Have you tried this cleanser before? Are you like me or are you a fan of the Amazing Face?
