All I have been doing the past few days is raving about my skincare routine and how I am banishing the foundations. Considering a couple of weeks back I went on a mad rush to buy every blemish treatment on the market I have done a complete 180! My whole teenage years (and subsequently all I knew about makeup) was covering up. Thick foundations, layers of powers, all I wanted to do was hide my skin even though the skin underneath wasn’t that bad. Since really focusing on good key skincare products and getting a working routine that my skin loves, when I sit down in front of the mirror in the mornings to get ready for work I no longer feel the need to slap on a whole layer of foundation. Also considering I work in a windowless office where the lights are dimmed I don’t think my prince charming is about to walk through the door so the want to ‘spruce up’ each morning is slightly non-existent :P

The above products are my picks of some of these miracle workers. They have helped to balance out my skin, change it from a state of oily/combination to pretty normal and if a pesky blemish does decide to rear it’s ugly head it’s able to quickly zap it away. The product I have had in my routine for the longest is the Origins Super Spot Remover. I used this when I was a teenager, forgot it for a while, then picked it back up last year. It really works wonders at banishing blemishes and removing redness. The second product that has been around the longest is the Caudalie Beauty Elixir. This caused quite the stir last year and was met with mixed reactions. Initially I must admit I didn’t see what all the fuss was about but I stuck with it and now it’s love. This is my 4th I think mini bottle and I really need to get me the big one! I love this for refreshing my skin, combating redness and it also works wonders with blemishes.

The Darphin Aromatic Purifying Balm is a luxury product. Housed in a little glass pot you need the smallest amount massaged into your skin. I use this as a moisturiser when my skin needs some extra TLC or I can feel some spots brewing. I’ve already been using these for a fair few months and have made the smallest dent – a little goes a long way here! The last two items have become firm favourites in my love of masks. The Aesop Chamomile Concentrate Anti-Blemish Masque drys on your skin like clay and the astringent properties help to clean the skin and calm down any irritation. I use this when my skin starts to flare up or after a weekend of heavy makeup! Either layered all over the face or targeted on specific problem areas, this really helps to clear up my skin. Finally is the Antipodes Reincarnation Pure Facial Exfoliator. I use this every time I wash my hair – hey whilst my hair is being conditioned my face get’s to be exfoliated! This brightens my skin and adds a bit of life to it in the mornings. It helps to gently lift away any dead skin cells and it’s smells an utter beaut!

With these handful of skincare beauties my skin is happy, clear and ready for a foundation free life!
