My Makeup #3

Recently the thought of applying foundation to my face is one I try and avoid at all costs. Sounds pretty strange coming from a girl that used to be the heavy, full coverage, mat finish queen! Since I’ve really become interested in skincare, got a good routine going and introduced some masks that have transformed my skin, I no longer want to cover up and hide under a layer of foundation. My skin looks more even in skin tone, there is less redness, fewer blemishes and as a result I no longer want to cover up. Instead I have been embracing all things natural, which even includes stepping out of the house with nothing but a BB cream as my base! I still like to pop on some shadows and add a flush of colour to my cheeks, but all whilst letting my skin breathe through.

The BB Cream of choice I have been loving recently is the Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm Cream. I have been trialing it for the last few weeks and a rave blog post will be on it’s way to you very soon! I find that this gives me just enough coverage but in order to mask the redness around my nose I turn to my trusty Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I still like to run some bronzer through the back of my cheeks and pop on a blush, in this look a light dabbing of the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy was all that was needed. To vamp up the eyes a bit I created a soft smokey eye with the Naked Palette and then layered on the mascara! To finish it off I used the Clinique Chubby Stick in Watermelon which gives a soft kiss of pink to your lips.

I like how this look enhances that areas that need it but still keeps my skin looking fresh and natural. Not all imperfections are masked but I’m starting to appreciate them instead of hiding them away!
