La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo – £11.05
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Mat – £12.75

La Roche-Posay is a brand I’m sure everyone is pretty familiar with, especially the two additions pictured above. Stocked in larger Boots stores and containing a brilliant range of skincare bits to sort out any problem, La Roche-Posay offers some great products that don’t break the bank. I had my eye on picking up the Effaclar Duo after every blogger and vlogger raved about it but my local Boots was out of stock (and I was too impatient to wait!) Instead I placed an order over at Escentual and picked up one of my all time favourite moisturiser whilst I was at it.

About a year ago the Effaclar Mat was my go to morning moisturiser. My skin was a bit oiler back then so I was looking for something that would hydrate my skin throughout the day but would also help to prevent any excess oil from appearing too. This did the trick and I went through about 2 or 3 bottles (but then got the itch to see what else was on the market!) Since then they have reformulated and repackaged and this is the first time I have picked it up after the grand change. Apart from the bottle, I don’t see a great difference with this reformulation which I am happy about as I loved the original so much I didn’t want to end up hating this! For me this is the perfect morning moisturiser as I can apply my foundation with ease straight after using it and it helps regulate any oiliness throughout my skin. Even in the colder days when my skin is a bit dryer this does the trick.

The second item I picked up I’m sure I don’t need to go into any detail about! The infamous Effaclar Duo has been purchased – cheers breakouts for making this a necessity! I am very sceptical about hyped products and half the time steer clear as opposed to diving in, however with my skin have a teenage attack I wanted to pick this up to see if it could really help. Whilst my skin is being problematic I have parked the Effaclar Mat and instead have been using this morning and night. Now I don’t know whether it’s all down to this, helped by the new purchase of the Origins Out of Trouble Mask (review here) or if it really is the miracle product everyone has been saying it is, but my skin really has improved. I have recently had lots of small bumps/mini break outs on my forehead and chin and over the past 2/3 days they have really died down and look to be on their way out. Until they are this will continued to be slathered on day and night but, I think it’s true what they say, this really is a skincare wonder!

Have you tried anything for La Roche-Posay before? What are you stand out products from the brand?
