Dental hygiene is vital. If you want your teeth to be with your forever then you need to spend the time looking after them and ensuring they are kept sparkly and crystal clean. Regular dentist visits are a must (which I am paying the price for not doing now!) and also a good quality toothbrush to ensure that the cleaning you doing is the best you can get at home. I always use an electric toothbrush as I feel like it gives my teeth a much deeper and intense clean then with a standard manual toothbrush. Also, the brushes have timers on them so you know that you are brushing each quadrant of your mouth for the right amount of time. The electric toothbrush I have is the standard £15 one from Superdrug that I have replaced each time it’s knackered out. Nothing too special but they get the job done. I have always wanted to get a more professional toothbrush and ever since my dentist visit of doom (oh yes fillings were involved!) the upgrade to a professional one has been made.
When I think of teeth and toothpaste I think of Oral B or Colgate. My cheapy toothbrushes have been Oral B so I entered the world of Colgate for the profession one and went for the new Colgate Pro-clinical A1500. This is the first electric toothbrush in the UK that will actually automatically adjust to whether it is brushing on teeth or gums. These not only give an intense clean to your teeth and your gums but it also makes sure that each part gets the cleaning and attention it needs. There are 3 different speeds that this toothbrush automatically switches between; MID for the gum-line, SLOWER for side to side brushing along the teeth surfaces and FAST for cleaning the back molars. This toothbrush has been made in partnership with Omron Healthcare who are the leaders when it comes to medical and home healthcare products with innovative sensor control. Who else best to help make this smart toothbrush?!
Onto the high tech stuff this toothbrush features a sonic wave that gives you 32,000 strokes per minute which helps to reduce five times more plaque along the gum-line. The A1500 also have 3 brushing modes that can be selected via the LED screen; auto, optimum and deep clean. I have been using this with a Colgate toothpaste and my teeth feel squeaky clean after using it. I feel like my teeth are getting a deeper clean and those harder to reach areas are getting more attention as opposed to be left at the back! The toothbrush is lightweight and the different settings means you can try and combat the amount of sugar to might have eaten that day :P Overall I am really impressed with this toothbrush and finds things like this a real investment to keeping an important part of yourself clean and healthy.
