Thanks to all you beautiful and lovely people I was lucky enough to be shortlisted and nominated for a Cosmo Blog Award in the Established Beauty Blog category. As I have never been to any form of blog awards before this was all rather special for me so to give me that awards edge I booked an appointment and headed off to the brilliant Lisa Shepherd Salon in London. Just around from Oxford Street this little salon is tucked away but full of fabulousness inside! There is a relaxation area where you can grab a mag, drink or even spend some time catching up on Twitter on one of their macs or iPads, and as they pride themselves on being colour specialists so I knew when my roots needing doing this was the place to go.

I booked in initially for a root touch up (the joys of going blonde aye!) and also a style to get my hair ready for the awards. My colour was looking a tad lifeless and I was so used to having highlights I wanted to add a bit of the multi-tonal look back into my hair. The salon were really accommodating and squeezed me in to get a few highlights popped in as well. The root touch up instantly took away the natural colour showing through and blended in perfectly to the existing colour. Then, so lovely brighter slices of blonde were added to my hair to give it some life and last life of summer. After this it was off to the basin for it all to be washed off and one of my favourite parts – their massaging chairs! Bliss!

Hair all washed it was ready for style time! I went with a half up half down look as I wanted my hair to look styled but not too OTT. Effortlessly natural shall we say! The hairdresser was brilliant and spent the time to give me a style I liked. Every strand of hair was placed and hair-sprayed into place and the finished look lasted all night!

This is how the back of my hair looked and the hairdresser added some soft curls throughout my hair to add a bit of bounce and body. Apologies for the shoddy lighting in the photos, theses were taken at about 10pm when I had got back from the awards! This style lasted from the salon, to me going home and getting changed, to the awards followed by a delicious bloggers dinner at Wagamamas and then home again – impressive stuff! Lisa Shepherd and everyone that works there are super helpful and lovely and can work magic with a pot of hair dye!

Also for those of you that wondered my makeup consisted of the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette to give the perfect natural smokey eye followed by a light dusting of Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy on the apple of my cheeks and MAC’s Creme Cup on my lips. Thanks again to everyone who voted for me –  I had a brilliant time and loved hanging out with some utter beaut bloggers who if you don’t follow go do now! (Emma, Zoe, Milly, Jessica, Laura, Amelia, Anna and Katie)
